The top 24 boys and girls all-class in each individual event plus the top 16 relay teams will be invited to compete based off the official 2025 results posted to your schools Nebraska middle-school athletic.net website. In order for athletes to compete, your schools track & field meet results must be posted by the meet host to athletic.net prior to Thursday May 8th at 10 PM CST. The athletic.net web site is a free, time-saving track team organizational tool beneficial to all coaches.
Track Events: 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 100H, 200H, 4 X 100, 4 X 400, 4 X 800 relay. Hurdles: Girls 30", Boys 33" for both hurdle events. The only hurdle race considered for qualifying to the NCM are 100 H, 195 H and 200 H. Please look for your athletes' coverted 195 H placements by the meet director in the 200H results starting May 1st, 2025, on the meet homepage. Conversion from 195H to 200H is a .7+ for boys and an .8+ for girls.
Field Events: Shot Put 4kg (girls and boys), Discus 1kg (girls and boys), Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault.
Meet Limitations: Athletes may not compete in more than 4 events. Coaches, junior high athletes may only participate in eight track meets during the Nebraska junior-high outdoor season, the Nebraska Championship Meet counts as one of the eight meets. If your athlete is a potential meet qualifier, please monitor that your athletes do not surpass this total.
Entering the Meet: Please visit the homepage for the NCM or athletic.net website often to see your athletes' ranking. Coaches, please visit with your potential qualifiers about their ability to attend prior to the start of meet registration. On Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 10 PM CST "All" postings to athletic.net will be downloaded and posted to the Nebraska Championship Meet website home page for ranking potential qualifiers to the meet. Individuals ranked in the top 24 or any relay team ranked in the top 16 posted to the meet Home page are invited to enter the meet starting 8 AM CST May 9th on your school athletic.net website. Please have a coach or school representative enter your athletes who plan to attend, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY FOR MEET MANAGEMENT TO KNOW WHO IS COMING FROM YOUR SCHOOL OR IN WHAT EVENTS! Automatic qualifier registration for the meet will close at 6PM CST Monday May 12, 2024. Events not full at 6:01 PM CST on May 6th will be open to the 25th ranked individual and to the 17th ranked relay in a descending ranked order until the events are filled. If your athletes are ranked lower than 24th individually or relay team ranked lower than 17th and wish to be considered to compete, please enter your non-automatic qualifers into the Meet. The meet director will post meet qualifiers to the front of the Nebraska Championship Meet Home page at 8 PM Wednesday May 14th. WE DO NOT USE RESULTS POSTED TO ATHLETIC.NET FROM MEETS AFTER MAY 8th FOR SEEDING THE MEET. Entries will only be marked "Accepted" after 12:00 Noon Wednesday, May 14th.
Entry Fee: $8.00 per individual event. Relay Teams $16.00 total. Payment is due at registration the morning of the meet. Please make checks payable to Gothenburg Public Schools. If you are sending the check prior to the meet, send to: Gothenburg Public Schools, 1322 Ave I, Gothenburg NE 69138 and put "entry fee NCM" in the memo
Awards: Medals will be presented to the top eight finishers. Outstanding Male and Female athlete awards will be presented. Team scores will be kept and plaques for the runner-up and team champion will be awarded.
